You have BP over there? Goddamn. I bet they charge you less than they charge me. I saw a story in the Washington Post yesterday that your gas prices have hit a record of $2.33 a gallon. We have to buy it in litres (back off Brussels) - I paid £0.89 for a litre when I filled up on Sunday. Using a conversion factor of 1 US gallon = 3.78 litres, I paid £3.36 for a gallon. Taking the $/£ rate at close in London this evening to be £1 = $1.77 means I paid $5.97 for a gallon. About 60% of that is tax.

And of course I paid this out of my salary on which I had already paid 22% income tax.

scary.

er, i'll stop complaining about the gas prices now.

BPs are weird places, it seems there's always been one around, but i think they used to be Amoco...

actually the gas prices round here--well, not in NY, because everything is overpriced in NY--are rather cheap compared to the rest of this country because North Jersey's got all them refineries so you don't have to pay for the transportation of the gas.
